Are You Ready For The Country?
Le allusioni alla guerra sono abbastanza chiare e danno una prima chiave di lettura. Io però, forse esagero, ci ho trovato una metafora più allargata, sul senso della vita. Il ragazzo (boy) non è necessariamente un soldato ma è il giovane uomo che ha la vita davanti. Pronto per il paese può significare pronto a dare il tuo contributo, a servire a qualcosa. Raccontare la tua storia nel senso di dire la tua, prendere una posizione e costruire qualcosa di tuo finché sei vivo (prima che sia tempo di andare). Essendo un ex ragazzo mi piace pensarla così

Les Litanies de Satan
Cover metrica. Nei primi anni 70 del secolo scorso mi ero messo a musicare diverse poesie di Baudelaire fra le quali questa. La canzone che cantavamo fra amici finiva all'ultimo verso senza la preghiera che riporto qui da Federica Del Moro che ho anche conosciuto.

Le titre fait référence au célèbre Summer on a Solitary Beach de Franco Battiato, mais ici la plage qui assiste au débarquement d’un bateau de migrants est bondée de vacanciers indifférents à ce qui se passe, ou tout au plus dégoûtés par le spectacle qu’ils suivent en direct à quelques pas d’eux.

Je vais, Lucien l’âne mon ami, commencer par une explication rétrospective et parler de la chanson qui a servi de base à cette parodie et qui n’est pas celle qui est signalée par le commentaire italien qui évoquait Franco Battiato et sa chanson « Summer on a Solitary Beach ».
Il me semble pourtant, dit Lucien l’âne, que le titre « Summer on a spiaggia affollata » renvoie assez clairement à « Summer on a Solitary Beach ».

Nel 1993, nell’album Canzonacce aveva proposto una versione “rivisitata” assieme a Enzo Jannacci, speditaci da un anonimo nel 2021 assieme a un video e alla sua trascrizione del testo. C'è un uomo che mi ha inspirato per tutta la vita. Io l'ho visto da quando ero piccolo. Io l'ho visto da quando sono rimasto piccolo. Quel signore lì, che m'ha fatto sbagliare questo spettacolo informale entrando, è il maestro esimio ed eccellente Enzo Jannacci.

Non è che, in questa canzone, Richard Fariña "fece riferimento" a I [Once] Loved a Lass, canzone popolare scozzese settecentesca: ne riprese proprio la melodia, tale e quale. Qui, in un impeto di ricordi personali, te la faccio ascoltare dai Tannahill Weavers. Il fatto è che l'ho ascoltata così proprio dai Tannahill Weavers (coi quali ho cantato assieme in una canzone), in piazza Santa Croce nel luglio del 1982.
