Quand j'ai lu la traduction de la première strophe de Μια γόμα γλυκιά , je n'ai pas pu faire autrement que de penser à cette nouvelle chanson de Springsteen. Grèce ou États-Unis, la situation est extraordinairement semblable. Et je dois dire que le Springsteen désillusionné et féroce me plaît beaucoup plus que le Springsteen enthousiaste de Obama. Ainsi on voit, dans la Guerre de Cent Mille Ans, le Boss sait très bien de quel côté aller !

Born in the Usa, che a metà degli Anni 80 fece di Bruce Sprinsgteen una star mondiale, si chiudeva con una canzone intimista, malinconica, forse perfino cupa. Si intitolava «My Hometown», ovvero «la mia città», e raccontava la storia di un uomo di mezza età che probabilmente aveva perso il lavoro e che stava pensando di abbandonare il luogo in cui era cresciuto e in cui aveva sempre vissuto, ora che «sulla strada principale ci sono solo vetrine imbiancate e negozi vuoti». Be', oggi, la hometown di Bruce Springsteen non è vuota. È morta, è il set di un film dell' orrore. Trovati una canzone da cantare, dice un padre dei nostri giorni al figlio nella canzone «Death Of My Hometown», perché gli assassini torneranno, gli avvoltoi non hanno finito di sfamarsi con i nostri cadaveri.
