Le Corriere della Sera a publié aujourd'hui un intéressant article sur cette journée mémorable...
En ces temps-là, la population italienne était moins réactive au régime que les gens de Nuras. Elle semblait s'accommoder du régime et rien ne laissait penser au revirement des années suivantes. Le Parti au pouvoir regroupait en ses rangs des millions d'adhérents... et son chef allait s'adresser avec morgue et sûreté à "son" peuple. Il partait à la bataille et se voyait vainqueur.
On ne sait trop si l'histoire se répétera...

Quaranta giorni di libertà
Sono Leandro Castellani, regista di "Quaranta giorni di libertà", film-tv che mi costò un anno di quarantena da parte della dirigenza RAI perchè mi ero rifiutato di inserirvi, dietro pressioni dell'ultimo momento, presenze di favore di tipo politico. Ho raccontato la vicenda in "Memoria, mito, storia" a cura dell'Archivio Nazionale Cinematografico della Resistenza (1994)
Debbo fare una precisazione. la bella canzone di Anna Identici inserita in ognuna delle tre puntate, non è dei fratelli De Angelis - autori del commento musicale del programma e di "Verde" sigla del medesimo - ma di G.Bertero e G.Guarnieri.

Da una verifica su Google risulta che Giorgio Bertero è autore di canzoni (qui una pagina Wikitesti, peraltro ancora vuota), così come Gianni Guarnieri è un musicista già presente in questo sito: è l'autore della musica di E quando sarò ricca eseguita dalla stessa Anna Identici. Gianni Guarnieri, come riporta un commento di Alessandro, ora The Lone Ranger), è nato a Firenze nel 1926. Ha fatto parte del "Quartetto Radar", ed è fratello dell'attrice Anna Maria Guarnieri. L'introduzione alla canzone è stata aggiornata. Per l'occasione è stata aggiunta anche una versione inglese della canzone.

Già...Bellissime queste canzoni, quando è morto Michael Jackson a dir la verità non mi sono troppo interessata, i miei amici erano tristi per lui, ma era un uomo imbottito di medicinali, semplicemente un pazzo.
In realtà a danza (che faccio come sport) mi hanno fatto ballare delle sue canzoni come fosse un uomo che si è sacrificato per noi. È morto bene, a dir la verità non mi dispiace più di tanto: è colpa sua. Che senso ha schiarirsi la pelle?
E i Partigiani, e gli extracomunitari? E i martiri, e i soldati morti nelle guerre? Dimenticati... Questa è l'unica e vera verità....

Direi che questo commento di Chiara è quanto mai pertinente ed esatto, al di là del giudizio più o meno negativo su questa canzone e su altre operazioni commercial-filantropiche del genere. Far assumere a figure come quella di Michael Jackson lo status di "eroi" è semplicemente aberrante. [RV]

Non è il racconto dell'attacco notturno di una squadraccia contro i partigiani, o quello di un blitz delle SS per scovare ebrei nascosti in territorio tedesco. È la storia di quello che lo Stato di Israele ha appena compiuto contro una nave di aiuti umanitari diretta verso la Striscia di Gaza.

J'ai hésité à te la faire connaître, mais que dire... Faut-il la laisser de côté ou, – c'est finalement la solution que j'ai choisie, la montrer quand même. Au moins, elle passera en langue française et si quelqu'un trouve à y redire, qu'il y redise.

Sarah Garland Gunning (later Sarah Ogan Gunning) was the tenth of 11 children in a Kentucky mining family, at a time when miners were paid less than a dollar and a half for a ten-hour day and worked in appalling conditions. Her father, Jim Garland, was blacklisted as he represented the miners in their fight for better wages, forcing him to use aliases in order go work in the mines. In 1931, a group of Northerners called the Dreiser Committee came to Kentucky to investigate atrocities committed against the miners, and brought their plight to national attention.
Sarah Garland and her sister, Molly (later known as Aunt Molly Jackson) wrote and sang songs in support of the struggle at labor rallies. They were taken to New York by members of the Dreiser Committee to help raise money for the miners' cause.... (Continues)

In 1931, a group of Northerners called the Dreiser Committee came to Kentucky to investigate atrocities committed against the miners, and brought their plight to national attention.
Sarah Garland and her sister, Molly (later known as Aunt Molly Jackson) wrote and sang songs in support of the struggle at labor rallies. They were taken to New York by members of the Dreiser Committee to help raise money for the miners' cause.... (Continues)

For this reason, I have removed the Hatikva page, with the hope that we can include in this site, one day, the anthem of a free and united Palestine where all can really live in peace. Questa canzone fu scritta da alcuni volontari del battaglione toscano studentesco (Università di Pisa e Siena) che partirono per respingere l'invasione austriaca lasciando i libri e imbracciando i fucili, a Curtatone e Montanara il 28 e 29 maggio. Per quanto poco romantico possa sembrare è il primo esempio di coscienza popolare italiana, dove una classe medioborghese parte per il fronte (prima linea) professori e studenti accanto.
Di questi (erano poco più di trecento) ne tornarono una manciata, per poi vedere la Toscana cadere nel 1849 con la presa di Livorno (16 maggio), operata dal Granduca che vendette tutto il Granducato per un milione di Svanziche.
Mi sembrava giusto inserire il contesto storico.

On Dec 6, 1907, several mines owned by the Fairmount Coal Company in Monagah, West Virginia exploded, killing hundreds of miners.... Twenty years later the memory of this tragedy was so strong in Alfred Reed's mind that he naturally associated his song with that event. The new accident, that resulted in more than 300 deaths, set up perhaps the most popular of many songs about mining disasters released during this era. The song itself stems from a recording made in 1924 by Vernon Dalhart, composed by Andrew Jenkins and based on an earlier piece of English origin ("Don't Go Down In The Mine, Dad").
It is interesting to note how Reed has modified the rhymes and meter.... The beautiful melody he employs also parallels its original in an interesting fashion: where the chorus of the Jenkins piece employs the subdominant,... (Continues)
