Teach Your Children
Una gustosa parodia dei Compassionate Conservatives, dal carattere decisamente più antimilitarista, tratta da:
http://www.oregonwaterfalls.com/cc/Tea...
*
We consider the original Crosby/Stills/Nash/Young song to be anti-war, albeit subtle ("their father's hell did slowly go by"). All we did was to drag it 30 years forward... from one quagmire to another. If we can somehow influence just one person not to join the military, or to avoid the impending draft, we will chalk that up as a success. Those who view war as somehow being noble or glorious must have discovered a way to block the truth from their minds. Don't fall for the media hype, or the sanitized bylines from embedded reporters... War is indeed Hell. -Compassionate Conservatives.

Not My President, Not My War
Chant by PDX anti-war marchers (20-Mar-2004)
Words/music by The Compassionate Conservatives
Copyright © 2004 The Compassionate Conservatives
Based upon a chant by anti-war marchers, this song quickly took on a life of its own. The words are written from the perspective of an American soldier who witnessed the Fallujah incident, sees the charred bodies, and wonders whether he will soon be paying a visit to Dover Air Force Base. All he wants to do is go home... can you blame him?
We suggest that you read Iraqi insider perspectives on the Fallujah retaliation, including firing upon ambulances. If you agree with us that war is a senseless waste of human life, here is a great way to express your opinion. We also suggest that you contact your Congressional rep to oppose the upcoming draft.-Compassionate Conservatives.

Dubya dreams of dictatorship, only to awaken and find that it is true. A non-stop litany of Bush gaffes, featuring the ever-popular world-dividing "you're with us or with the terrorists". Bush claims to receive orders from God in his black-and-white world. Pakistan, our staunch 'Non-NATO Ally' in the War On Terror, happens to be a long-standing sponsor of terrorism. And do we dare to mention Saudi Arabia, or the fact that the bin Laden and Bush families are long-time business associates? -Compassionate Conservatives.

Bush's January 2003 State of the Union address repeated the various lies for invading Iraq. However, some of his comments (e.g., "he has shown utter contempt for the UN and the opinion of the world") were remarkably accurate when applied to himself. Commentators include Professor Francis Boyle, who offers reasons why Bush should be impeached. Let's not forget that Bill Clinton was impeached for lying about sex, a private act between two consenting adults.
Consequently, Bush should be not only impeached, but investigated as a war criminal for lying our country into an unnecessary conflict which has resulted in hundreds of US troops killed and thousands wounded, along with 10,000... (Continues)

On 19-Mar-2003, announced the start of the unsanctioned Iraq invasion. Six weeks later, on 1-May-2003, King George (who had successfully ducked his duty during Vietnam) had the gall to play fighter pilot on the USS Lincoln. With a "Mission Accomplished" banner as a backdrop, Commander Dubya declared an end to the Iraq war.
Months later, as the death toll mounted, the White House claimed that he had actually declared an end to "major combat operations". The White House also made a feeble attempt to distance itself from the "Mission Accomplished" banner.
But the biggest irony of all is that, like most members of the Bush/Cheney administration, our "Commander-in-Chief" was AWOL during the Vietnam war. During his February 2004 interview with Tim... (Continues)

Despite the mellow music, this might be our harshest indictment thus far of our unelected puppet president.
The first two verses focus upon the notion that Bush really didn't care and allowed 9/11 to occur.
Next, we discuss the fact that Bush took political advantage, by launching an illegal war that looks and feels like Vietnam. Slimey? Of course! But the truth is hidden in plain sight. We also chastise the mainstream media for their complicity, particularly CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC.
"Last but far from least, we lambast Bush for being a so-called "man of God", blindly pushing forward with his Divinely-sanctioned holy war, while steadfastly refusing to apologize for anything." - Compassionate Conservatives.

Sull'aria di "Volare" di Domenico Modugno [Modugno/Migliacci, 1958]
To the tune of "Volare" by Domenico Modugno
[Modugno/Migliacci, 1958]
"Convicted embezzler and Iraqi defector Ahmed Chalabi supplied the neoconservative cabal with fanciful tales of WMD, nuclear programs, and other reasons why Saddam Hussein posed an "imminent threat" to the USA. Grateful for the opportunity to "take out Saddam", our fearless leaders played along with the story line which Chalabi fed them. Now that he has returned home, he has dismissed his yarns, proclaimed himself and his cronies to be "heroes in error", and appointed his nephew to try Saddam.
His decision-making is as dubious as his "intelligence", including the disastrous choice to move against Muqtada al-Sadr. Worst of all, Chalabi and his Iraqi National Congress... (Continues)

Another War
[2003]
"Set to the tune of the Beatles' "Drive My Car", Bush and Cheney are overjoyed at the prospect of -- you guessed it -- another war. Featuring a special excerpt from Bush's March 19th speech introducing the Iraqi war."

Prophetic lyric: "Halliburton's gonna score"... indeed they have with billions of dollars of no-bid contracts to rebuild Iraq. These services included providing the troops with "filthy mess halls and rotten food", overcharging the government $61 million for hauling gasoline from Kuwait, and more recently charging Uncle Sam for empty flatbed truck runs. In addition to impressive profits, they are running up an impressive rap sheet!

Music based upon "Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay" (© 1967 Steve Cropper/Otis Redding)
Lyrics by The Compassionate Conservatives

Before the lurid photos of those wacky kids from Abu Ghraib finally made the rounds (despite the oh-so-gentle GOP's desperate efforts to squelch them), there was -- and still is -- Guantánamo Bay. Serving as a permanent home-away-from-home for wayward children and other "enemy combatants", Guantánamo was the first bold experiment in how to handle prisoners in the indefinite War on Terror® without having to be held accountable to rules of international law.
God might bless America and our worldwide network of secret jails, but apparently He doesn't care too much about those lost souls at Guantánamo Bay, including obvious-non-terrorist Sean Baker who was beaten within an inch of his life during an "interrogation"... (Continues)
