You don't feel 50 years past. On July 7, 2010, 50 years since the revolt against Tambroni's fascist government, nothing has changed. Now they attack the victims of an earthquake: the same police, the same fascist state. And the song needs updating.

"Hurra! Hurra! for the parade of the democratic republic / hurra! hurra! for the exhibition of the low cost death", these words were written by Riccardo Venturi four years ago in his own personal language and were then put into music (in Italian) by Paz.
For the umpteenth time on June 2nd we have to attend an "useless carnival" where the Italian Republic, that repudiates war but just in theory, celebrates itself, full of rhetoric and militarism.
So thanks to Riccardo for this song but especially for everything he did for this website and for us.
Pregasi mettere in sottofondo la musica che si vuole. Persino una marcia militare. Persino un rap, anche se a rigore dovrebbe essere un talkin' blues. Assumere l'espressione ed il tono di voce che si vuole. Leggere però a voce alta, anche se si è soli.
Ho scritto questa cosa, ispirandomi almeno per il titolo a "Talkin' Milano" di Guccini e Alan Cooper, il 25 marzo 1999. La sera stessa iniziavano i bombardamenti NATO sul Kosovo.

Il Pontino è il quartiere di Livorno dove ho abitato fino al marzo del 2002; in realtà, questa “non-canzone” è stata scritta ben lontano da quei posti, nel nord della Francia, pochissimi giorni prima dell'inizio della raccolta delle “CCG primitive”, nel febbraio del 2003. Uno degli inviti che si facevano durante quei due mesi di raccolta spontanea era quello di scrivere delle canzoni, anche senza nessuna musica, e di inserirle nella raccolta; al momento di scrivere qualcosa anch'io, pensai invece inserire proprio questa “Litania” scritta da poco. Mi venne spontaneo, vivendo molto lontano, di situarla a Livorno, in un'ordinaria notte in cui comincia una guerra, rivedendomi a barcollare gonfio di vino come mi succedeva fino all'anno prima.
