Fadwa Soliman
[2012]
Lyrics by Johnny Punish
Music: sung to the tune of "Jimmy Jazz" by The Clash
Album: At The Global Cafe
A prominent Syrian actress, Fadwa Soliman or Fadwa Suleiman (Arabic: فدوى سليمان), has been actively backing the eight-month-old uprising against the country's government, which is blamed for a military crackdown on protests that the UN says has left thousands of people dead.
Fadwa Soliman belongs to the country's minority Alawite sect, the same branch of Islam as the country's ruling Assad family. She has been in the flashpoint city of Homs for weeks, urging more people to take part in the revolution while on the run from authorities. Nisreen El-Shamayleh reports from Amman, the capital of neighbouring Jordan, on the actress-turned-activist who has been disowned by her own family for her leading role in the protest movement.

The Occupation
[2010]
Lyrics & Music by Johnny Punish
Album: A Daring Escape from the Empire
"I wrote and recorded this painful sad song to bring more attention to what's going on in the Holy Land.
The future of our soul is at stake. We simply cannot look the other way while U.S. Taxpayers continue to fund this mess. The children of Palestine are people too!
I've also dedicated this song to the late Rachel Corrie, a true blue American Hero. She stood up and gave her life for all of us…..
We need to start a movement to get a monument to her made in D.C. so that millions of Americans can learn what a hero she truly is for her people and everyone around the world who supports liberty, freedom, and the right to self-determination. So I kindly urge you to learn more about Rachel.
Finally, if you feel compelled, please pass it around and post it on your social networking sites. After 60 years, it's time to end this…"

9/11 Truth Rock
[2011]
Lyrics & Music by Johnny Punish, Matthew Naus, Dan & David Cordero
Album: PunishMania [2012]
The song was inspired by a poem written by Matthew Naus found on the net by Johnny Punish. Thereafter Johnny Punish and David Cordero sat in the back of a manger behind a 500 year old catholic church deep in the heart of freedom and wrote the first drafts of the song late July 2011. Dan Cordero showed up later that evening and finished it off and 9/11 Truth Rock was born as another voice in the chorus of voices looking for answers.
The song will be featured on the upcoming record by Johnny Punish called "PunishMania", expected out by the end of 2011 and will be available on ITunes and all major online retailers

Osama killed = 911 avenged ?
Osama bin Laden has been killed. The US got its man, just as George Bush vowed it would. So is the frenzy of war that grew from 9/11 over? Certainly not.
The only thing that is, are the lame jokes about Osama bin Laden hiding in the kitchen pantry.
The public celebrations in the West Bank after the awful events of September 11 that appalled us in the West seem somehow eerily mirrored in the celebrations we are now witnessing at the White House. Pick the difference! It's reminiscent of celebrating fans after a football victory. And it suggests we are locked in an ongoing war of retribution: we must bomb or be bombed, we must kill or be killed.
Nothing can excuse or justify any act of terrorism, but when leaders of any nation - particularly our own - applaud the state-legitimised... (continuer)
