Semplicemente era un bel ricordo personale. Perché per lo stesso principio dei cani di Pavlov una canzone "brutta" se associata ad un bel ricordo diventa automaticamente bella

Una canzone d'amore, pure parecchio smielata, e molto malinconica.
Ma me la ricorderò sempre cantata da mio padre, che si accompagnava con la chitarra, sul divano di casa, davanti al caminetto. E siccome adesso non sta benissimo, mi va di metterla qui.
Aggiungo due note sulla canzone: l'originale è statunitense, composto dalla cantautrice Hedy West con il titolo Five Hundred Miles. Comunque è stato un successo mondiale in diverse lingue e versioni. Ma ho inserito la versione francese, perché è quella che ascoltavo da piccolo.
R. Antony ne fece anche una versione in italiano “E Il Treno Va”.
E in Italia fu interpretata da Franco Battiato con Giuni Russo
