La canzone ha ispirato il film "Convoy" (da noi "Convoy, trincea di asfalto") diretto nel 1978 da Sam Pekinpah, un western-road movie con Kris Kristofferson nella parte del "fuorilegge" leader dei camionisti, la bellissima Ali MacGraw ed Ernst Borgnine nella parte dello sceriffo cattivo.
Un film piuttosto inconcludente, non certo al livello di altri "outlaw movie" di cui si è spesso parlato su questa pagine (vedi, da ultimo, "L'imperatore del Nord" di cui a commento di Weavery Life)...
Non so se questo basti per poter includere la canzone tra le CCG...

L’anonimo contributore ha omesso ogni riferimento all’autore (C. W. McCall) ed ogni spiegazione sul testo (pur facilmente desumibile da en.wikipedia) forse proprio perché non c’entra una beata mazza con le CCG… A quanto leggo McCall era specializzato in “convoy songs”, sorta di subgenere country in cui i cowboys cavalcano i giganteschi trucks al posto dei cavalli… Per quel che capisco si tratta della storia di una rivolta (fittizia) di camionisti contro i limiti di velocità, contro le pastoie della legge che li obbligano alle pause di riposo, contro i controlli della polizia stradale… Non vorrei che si trattasse di quel genere di canzoni da “leghisti” a stelle e strisce, come se qui si pubblicassero le canzoni di protesta degli allevatori che hanno sforato le quote latte…
Credo poi che canzone non c’entri comunque nulla col percorso cui è stata assegnata…
