[giugno 1942]
Scritta da Sis Cunningham.
Sulla melodia de “The Riflemen's Song At Bennington”, canzone del 1770 che celebra una vittoria americana durante la Guerra d’Indipendenza.
Nell’album degli Almanac Singers intitolato “Anti-Fascist Songs Of The Almanac Singers”.

The Almanac Singers

Altra canzone bellicista e patriottarda, contribuita pertanto come Extra.
Who is that I see coming, advancing row on row.
They stop along and sing a song as to the front they go.
Onward to battle and their chins are held high --
And they're giving us the victory sign as they go marching by.

Oh the rifles! (clapping)
The rifles! (clapping)
In their hand will prove no trifles!
Oh the rifles! (clapping)
The rifles! (clapping)
In their hand will prove no trifles!

It's toward Berlin they're marching, and on to Tokio
They'll call on Adolph Hitler and they'll visit old Tojo
Everyone a mother's son, and mother's heart is brave
For she's thinking of a hundred lives her soldiers gun will save

Oh the rifles! (clapping)
The rifles! (clapping)
In their hand will prove no trifles!
Oh the rifles! (clapping)
The rifles! (clapping)
In their hand will prove no trifles!

Together with our Allies, and the brave guerilla bands
We bring the flag of Freedom to all the conquered lands
Here's to the Tommies and the brave Red Army men
Here's to the union of all the fighting friends.

Oh the rifles! (clapping)
The rifles! (clapping)
In their hand will prove no trifles!
Oh the rifles! (clapping)
The rifles! (clapping)
In their hand will prove no trifles!

Our bombers fill the heavens, our convoys sail the sea
Our tanks are rolling onward to the final victory
The cannons and the hand grenades will make a fearful din
With the rattle of the rifles when the Allies take Berlin:

Oh the rifles! (clapping)
The rifles! (clapping)
In their hand will prove no trifles!
Oh the rifles! (clapping)
The rifles! (clapping)
In their hand will prove no trifles!
