Mothers and Fathers showed them how to pray,
They prayed to the sun and moon night and day
No need for ornate churches or any of that
They were friends with the elk, deer and the cat.
They fished from the streams with a rod they made by hand
Planted seed and ate food from the land
Didn't throw away what they didn't use
Never did they think the things they had they'd lose
Native Americans had the answer
they believed in life on the land..
They treasured the earth and what it gave
We took their life and stole their land.
[Lead solo]
All the children listened to those of age
Character was built at an early age
I don't suggest we sleep and eat on the ground
But I do believe their lifestyle was very sound
Greed seems to be the way today
The world is smaller -many more people you say
Little men rule with an iron fisted hand
They twist the truth and they abuse their land.
Native Americans had the answer
they believed in life on the land
They treasured the earth and what it gave
We took their life and stole their land.
They prayed to the sun and moon night and day
No need for ornate churches or any of that
They were friends with the elk, deer and the cat.
They fished from the streams with a rod they made by hand
Planted seed and ate food from the land
