Mattafix

I Mattafix, traducibile in italiano come "Problema Risolto" sono un duo musicale inglese, i cui membri sono Marlon Roudette amante dello Steel Drum e Peetresh, un vero fanatico dei computer.

Hanno esordito nel corso del 2005 con il singolo "Big City Life" tratto dal loro album discografico di debutto, Signs Of A Struggle. Il loro genere musicale varia dal Hip hop all'elettronica, dal reggae fino al pop con sonorità Trip Hop. Il secondo singolo proposto dai Mattafix dopo il successo di Big City Life è stato "To&Fro". Nel marzo 2006 i Mattafix hanno presentato il loro terzo estratto "Passer By".

Nell'agosto 2006 i Mattafix concludono il loro album Signs Of A Struggle presentando il loro quarto estratto "Cool Down The Pace". Nell'agosto 2007 annunciano che il loro secondo album è stato ultimato. Il primo singolo "Living" girato in Darfur è stato rilasciato durante il "GlobalDayDarfur". Sarà possibile acquistare il singolo dal 22 ottobre 2007. L'album intitolato Rhythm And Hymns sarà invece rilasciato il 12 novembre 2007.

I Mattafix hanno sin dai loro inzi manifestato un forte impegno sociale, in particolare a sostegno dei diritti umani in Darfur e in favore della cessazione delle ostilità. Sul sito ufficiale della band è possibile aderire alla campagna, sia facendo delle donazioni, sia inviando una lettera aperta alle Nazioni Unite.

Mattafix are a UK duo, made up of Marlon Roudette and Preetesh Hirji. Their sound is a fusion of Alternative rock, Hip Hop/Rap, R&B, Reggae, Dancehall, Blues, Jazz, Soul and World.

Marlon Roudette was born in London and grew up on the Caribbean island of St. Vincent with his mother and sister after moving there with her as a young child. Preetesh Hirji was born in London of dual-Indian parentage.

Mattafix released their first single "11.30 (Dirtiest Trick in Town)" as a limited edition on Buddhist Punk Records on January 13, 2005. However, the song never charted.

Their second single, "Big City Life", was released by EMI on August 8, 2005. It was a considerable hit, managing a number 15 in the United Kingdom and a number 1 in Germany, Poland, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and New Zealand. It also had moderate success in other European countries where it reached the top 20.

Their third single, "Passer By", was released on October 24, 2005. However, the single missed the charts in the United Kingdom with a peak at number 79. The single preceded their debut album Signs of a Struggle, which was released a week later. "Passer By" was only released in the United Kingdom and Poland.

Signs of a Struggle received positive reviews and had moderate success in European countries where it reached the top 100. However, the album charted at number 159 in the UK Albums Chart. Signs of a Struggle was a Triple J feature album in April, 2006.

The duo toured with the likes of Jem and Joss Stone on their UK tours to promote the album.

Their fourth single, "To & Fro", was released on March 13, 2006. The single was released as a download only in the United Kingdom. The single missed the charts in most European countries.

Their fifth single, "Cool Down the Pace", was released on August 1, 2006. The song received much airplay but didn't chart well. It was the last single taken from their debut album Signs of a Struggle.

On September 7, 2007, Mattafix released the first single, "Living Darfur", taken from their second album Rhythm & Hymns. It was available as a download only. The single was released physically on October 22, 2007. The video features Matt Damon.

The album was released on November 23, 2007 in most European countries. In Australia, it was released on November 17, 2007. The UK release date is yet to be announced.
