Dreas, born 6 April 1981, Kungsbacka, Sweden.
Dreas's interest for dance music started in the early 90s. Back then it was Eurodance that first got his attention way before he had ever heard of today's trance sound.
Back in those days Dreas had also learnt to DJ. At an early age he started hosting school parties to raise money for his class trips. Over the years Dreas's technical ability on the decks has greatly improved to the world class standards that they are today.
Dreas comes from a musical family and greatly acknowledges the advantages of having a father with contacts for new equipment. This was probably the main reason that led him into producing his own music. At the age of 12 he first started to learn Cubase (Cubase GS) together with a Roland JV1080. At the beginning it was all about playing around, putting down beats and educating himself.
4 years later Dreas was introduced to a local producer who had worked for many famous artists coming out of Sweden in various electronic genres. He was given the opportunity to work with on project called Razzia Project - Droid, which became his first CD single release. Still the urge for a better and more professional sound was a major priority. Over the next few years Dreas would buy and sell many synthesizers until finally for the first time he started to reach something that for him what he had been striving for.
By this time Dreas was hocked on the big Swedish artists like Antiloop & Earthbound. Following in their foot steps he then started hunting for a record deal.
During the year of 2000 Dreas for the first time was properly introduced to the trance that has formed his producing direction of today. 2 years on he started to realize that the Swedish market and record labels was the wrong place for him to be and so changed his musical direction. He set his goals high and thus compared himself to producers like Ferry Corsten.
Dreas's actual first official release 'Sonic Rush / Morning Snow' made an appearance in September 2003 when Misja Helsloot signed it for his 'First Second Records' imprint of Gesture Music. The release was played by many of the major DJs around the globe, Ferry Corsten at Dance Valley and it was regularly getting aired in the UK superclubs.
Dreas followed this in early 2004 with Havannah - Havannah, released on Trance Revolution Recordings (TRR). The track was huge and received massive support from all major a-list DJs.
Now at the start of 2005 the future looks extremely bright for this Swedish artist. Expect some big releases this year already signed and ready to go.
