Travis Knapp has been writing and performing his original music for 10 years, and in 2008 won BMI's John Lennon Songwriting Contest for his song "Before You Go". With influences from soul, blues, folk, jazz, and pop styles, Travis' piano and guitar playing are a comfortable extension of his body. His deeply soothing and breathtakingly beautiful vocals have the ability to both transport and transform the listener. Travis studied piano and voice at Ithaca College, where he served as an accompanist for many fine singers. As a member of Ithacappella (IC's premier male a cappella group), he entertained audiences of all ages, from Ithaca and New England, to New Orleans and California. As half of the community education duo "Rot and Roll," Travis writes and performs composting and ecology songs, including "Raw Veggies and Greens" from the Grammy-nominated album "Food for Thought."
He currently resides in Ithaca, where he grows vegetables, gathers wild foods, and explores the forests.
